Daylight saving time officially ended Sunday morning at 2 a.m.

The change means it will be lighter earlier in the morning and darkness will arrive earlier in the evening. Dusk coming earlier often causes issues for drivers and pedestrians.

Pedestrian collisions increase by more than 30% during the evening commute between November and March. Pedestrians should remember to wear brighter clothing, only cross the street at designated crosswalks and try to stay in well lit areas.

Seasonal time changes are also linked to health complications like headaches and heart problems. Pets can feel the effects too. Their schedules are closely linked to their owners’ daily routines, meaning their feeding, exercise and medication schedules will be delivered an hour later than usual when the clocks fall back, something to keep in mind.
