The phone lines are now open for first time applications for the Chatham Goodfellows No Child Without a Christmas campaign.
Applicants must apply by phone only: 519-354-1146. Applications are open until Friday, December 1st.
This is the 69th annual campaign to provide food and toys to children and their families during the holidays.
Last year, No Child Without A Christmas supported 1600 families with food and gift baskets.

Operation Cover Up distribution started yesterday.
For those in need of a winter coat, you need to pick up a coupon at one of the following:
- Chatham – 46 Orangewood Blvd
- Wallaceburg – 600 Lowe St.

- Tilbury Information and Help Centre – 26 Queen St N.

Canadian veterans and active service members will be able to use all Ontario Provincial Parks with free weekday day-use all year .
Veterans and active service members can present their valid Canadian Armed Forces identification and proof of Ontario residency to gain access to the parks.

There’s a brand new apple from an orchard in Newcastle, Ontario.
Snowflake is a white-speckled apple with rosy-red skin that has a complex yet distinctive flavour: crisp, juicy, initially sharp that quickly gives way to a sweet tanginess.
Only available at select stores in the province.
It took about 20 years for Algoma Orchards to grow and market the Snowflake apple. There is currently only enough to sell in Ontario but they hope that in a few years they can sell it across the country.
Heads up if you’re planning to do any travelling around the American Thanksgiving weekend (November 24th). The Transportation Security Administration is projecting this Thanksgiving will see 55 million travelers.
A lot of the headaches come at security, because people don’t know what to pack.
Turkey and stuffing are allowed in carry-on bags. So are pies and cakes, because they’re considered solids. But no gravy or mashed potatoes because they’re considered a liquid.
