Sun, cloud and a 40% chance of rain locally today. Not so lucky in other parts of the province though.

Environment Canada issued Freezing rain Warnings and Special Weather Statements yesterday for a lot of areas east of London Wednesday. Today, the wintry weather moves into the Kingston to Ottawa area.

Sunny skies are expected in Chatham-Kent with single digit highs for the weekend.


The Salvation Army Chatham Kent is looking for Red Kettle volunteers.

Kettles will be on the streets by the end of the month. Funds raised directly support local families and children in need.

The NHL’s best players will be in Toronto in February for the 2024 NHL All-Star Game.

This week, the NHL announced a four-day hockey fan festival that will take place February 1 to February 4 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The NHL Fan Fair will have interactive hockey games, special appearances by NHL Alumni and current NHL players, there will be NHL memorabilia and trophies on display including the Stanley Cup.

Walmart is making a big change to accommodate customers with autism, PTSD, and other sensory disorders. Starting tomorrow, stores will have special “sensory-friendly” hours from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. each day.

The TVs will show a static image instead of videos. They’ll also leave the music off and lower the lights. They tested it for back-to-school season and had success.


Toronto has a Christmas themed bar opening again this season; Miracle Toronto on Bloor Street will open next week.

The bar will serve Jingle Balls Nog, Christmapolitan, Snowball Old Fashioned, and Hot Buttered Rum. There is also a small gift store.

The pop-up bar will operate as a walk-in, with no reservations. For every drink sold, $1 will be donated to Nellie’s, an organization providing shelter education and advocacy for women and children in the GTA.

Miracle Toronto on Bloor Street will be open November 17 to December 30.
