Chris and Allanah are volunteering their time this morning at the Real Canadian Superstore with a Salvation Army Kettle.
With just more than two weeks left before Christmas, The Salvation Army in Chatham-Kent is falling behind its Red Kettle goal for 2023. The Red Kettle Campaign is the Salvation Army’s largest fundraiser to help finance the many services and programs offered to individuals and families in need throughout the year in Chatham-Kent. The Salvation Army’s goal is $500,000 for the year. At last check, the organization was sitting at around the $200,000 mark.

MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani has agreed to a 10-year, $700 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. It’s the largest contract in North American pro-sports history.
The Blue Jays were in the running with reports on Friday of a private jet making its way to Toronto with Ohtani coming to sign a contract. Turned out, the private jet was carrying Dragon Den’s Robert Herjavec. It ended up being the most tracked flight in the world Friday.
Saturday Ohtani signed with the Dodgers. The 29-year-old star from Japan can do it all. Ohtani is the type of player rarely seen in Major League Baseball, given he’s both a star hitter and a great pitcher. The contract will break down to:
- Per year: $70,000,000
- Per month: $5,833,333.33
- Per week: $1,346,153.84
- Per day: $191,780.82
- Per hour: $7,990.87
- Per minute: $133.18
- Per second: $2.22

Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom soup is entering prime season.
Campbell’s says that 50% of annual sales of cream of mushroom soup take place between November and January.
Introduced in 1934, it was the first product from Campbell’s marketed as both a soup and a sauce.
