A successful night for the Chatham Goodfellows Porchlight campaign Monday.

Volunteers were spread throughout the community collecting cash, toys and food to make sure No Child is Without a Christmas this season. $57,680 in cash was collected this year. That’s down from last years $59,000.

The Porchlight fundraiser is important because it helps purchase vital items for the food hampers that are given to families in need, like turkeys, hams and bags of milk.

The annual Goodfellows newspaper Street Sales are December 15 & 16. Volunteers will be outside of local businesses selling the annual Goodfellows papers. For more information or to volunteer go to ChathamGoodfellows.ca.


The Chatham-Kent Public Library hosts Movies @ Your Library every Tuesday at the Chatham branch.

Book your spot today to see Official Secrets starring Keira Knightley.
Movies start at 2pm.


Parks Canada announced last week that camping reservations for the 2024 season will open in January. Last year, bookings opened in March.

Campers can book their trips in Ontario February 5, 2024. The specific launch dates vary by province and territory between from January 19 through February 13, 2024.

Reservations can be booked here or by phone.

Reservations for Ontario Parks are accepted up to five months in advance of your arrival date.


East Side Pride hosts Breakfast with Santa at the Wish Centre Saturday morning 10-11:30.

Everyone is welcome for breakfast.

Volunteers from C-K police, fire and EMS will be cooking breakfast.


A double header for Santa this weekend.

On Saturday, Santa will be in Ridgetown for the parade at 1, then head to Dresden for their parade at 6.
