5 Things You Need To Know

January 26th is the 26th day of the year. There are 340 days remaining until the end of the year.


Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Chatham-Kent and most of Southwestern Ontario.

Significant rain was in the forecast. Anywhere from 15 to 25 millimeters of rain before it tapers off later today.

The frozen ground will have a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall, and localized flooding may occur in areas with poor drainage. For flood info, visit Ontario.ca/floods.


The Winter ARTcrawl is tonight.

ARTcrawl will kick off at ARTspace at 5 p.m. Next are stops at the Art & Heirloom Shop and Crow City Cafe where pieces local artists will be on display.

At 7 p.m., the Thames Art Gallery is hosting an opening reception. The Chatham-Kent Museum will open its doors for an exhibition of its collection of C-K’s history with an ’80-theme.

The night will wrap with performances in Studio One at 8 p.m.

The CKRecreation Play Rangers are in Ridgetown this weekend.

Bring the family for the FREE drop-in program that is fun for all ages!

The Play Rangers are at the Ridgetown Youth Centre, Saturday, January 27th from 1pm – 3pm.

By the end of the weekend we’ll know who’s playing in the Super Bowl.

On Sunday the AFC Championship will kick off at 3 with the Kansas City Chiefs in Baltimore to play the Ravens. The NFC Championships has the Detroit Lions taking on the 49ers in San Francisco at 6:30.

The last time the Lions were in the NFC Championship with a chance to go to the Super Bowl was way back on January 12, 1992. The Lions were dominated by Washington and lost by 31. Since then, its been 31 seasons without ever reaching the championship round or winning another playoff game.

Super Bowl 58 is in Las Vegas on February 11th.

The Detroit Lions Drone Show will be over Downtown Detroit tonight.

A Lions-themed drone show will be visible 400 feet above Ford Field facing downtown, tonight at 8:30 p.m.

This event is weather-dependent.
