5 Things You Need To Know

January 9th is the 9th day of the year. There are 357 days remaining until the end of the year.


Environment Canada issued a winter storm watch for some parts of Ontario and Quebec, suggesting as much as 40 centimetres of snow may blanket some areas of the provinces starting today.

Affected areas of Ontario could see 15 to 30 centimetres of snowfall, and northeast winds gusts of up to 60 km/h.

Locally, not so bad.

A special weather statement has been issued for Chatham-Kent, London, Sarnia-Lambton, and Windsor-Essex.

Environment Canada is calling for up to five centimetres of snow and anywhere from 20 to 30 millimetres of rain beginning early today. The snow may be heavy at times before changing to rain near midday.
