A heads up that Pink Shirt Day 2024 is just around the corner.

Pink Shirt Day is set for Wednesday, February 28, about a week later than it has been over the past couple of years.

Plenty of schools and businesses in the area will be sporting pink shirts on Wednesday to stand up to bullying and to raise awareness of the issues.

The Pink Shirt Day anti-bullying movement started in 2007 after a Grade 9 student from a small town in Nova Scotia was bullied for wearing a pink T-shirt to school. As a show of support and acceptance, two older students purchased 50 pink tank tops and handed them out to male classmates the next day, and Pink Shirt Day was born.

Saturday will be sunny with a high of 1C, then back to more mild temps on Sunday with a high of 8C and more sunshine.

An American spacecraft has landed on the moon for the first time in more than 50 years.

The robotic Odysseus lunar lander made history on Thursday night, becoming the first privately built spacecraft to touch down on the moon’s surface. It’s also the first American spacecraft on the moon since the Apollo 17 mission in 1972.

The 14-foot spacecraft spent six days cruising in space until it reached its destination. According to NASA, Odysseus will spend a week on the moon collecting data to prepare for future human exploration of the moon.
