There’s another chance to give blood locally today.

There’s a blood donor clinic at the UAW Hall Wallaceburg from 1-7 p.m.

No walk-ins are available but you can book your appointment at blood.ca, by calling 1-888-2-donate or on the Canadian Blood Services app.


While we’re normally worried about snow this time of year, some parts of the province will have to worry about thunderstorms on Tuesday, accompanied by record-setting highs in some parts of southern Ontario.

The milder temperatures mean favorable conditions for thunderstorms.

According to Environment Canada, in Chatham-Kent, there is about an 40% chance of showers with the risk of thunderstorms throughout day and into the evening with a high of 16C


Next time you visit Toronto, your takeout order might look a little different.

A new law is taking effect this week in Toronto that restaurants in the city will no longer be allowed to hand out single-use utensils without being asked first

This means that unless you ask for it, you won’t get straws, napkins, stir sticks, beverage trays and condiment packages.

It’s part of Toronto’s longterm waste management strategy and takes effect March 1.


Good news if you’re a fan of Subway cookies.

The sandwich chain has launched its footlong cookie in Canada.

The footlong version of Subway’s famous chocolate chip cookie was introduced in the U.S. earlier this year, garnering a lot of attention online.

Due to overwhelming demand to bring it north of the border, Subway has brought it to stores across Canada for a limited time.
