The Chatham Maroons season is done after falling to the Lasalle Vipers in OT at Memorial Arena last night. The Vipers win round one of the GOJHL Playoffs in 6 games. The series had four games go to overtime, and each game was a one goal decision.
In the Provincial Junior Hockey League playoffs, the Wheatley Omstead Sharks season is over, bowing out to the Lakeshore Canadiens in 4 straight games on Saturday. Sunday night was the end of the Blenheim Blades playoffs, falling to the Essex 73’s.
In the Western Ontario Super League, the Tilbury Bluebirds are tied with the Tillsonburg Thunder at 1 game each, losing in game two last night 3-0.

The inventor of karaoke has died.
Shigeichi Negishi was a Japanese businessman that lived to be 100 years old.
He invented the first karaoke machine in 1967, after one of his employees made fun of his singing voice. It was originally called the Sparko Box. Negishi never patented his invention, but his daughter says that never bothered him. “He felt a lot of pride in seeing his idea evolve into a culture of having fun through song around the world.”
