The NFL Draft is next week in downtown Detroit.

Behind the Super Bowl, it’s considered the second biggest event on the NFL calendar.

The draft happens over a three-day stretch from April 25 to 27, and Detroit will be jammed. Thursday night alone, officials are expecting over 300,000 fans.

If you plan on going, get there early. The Ambassador Bridge and Windsor-Detroit Tunnel will be open throughout the event, but the John C. Lodge in Detroit as well as Jefferson Avenue will be closed and event planners expect traffic will be congested.

The Transit Windsor Tunnel Bus will run an increased schedule, beginning at 10 a.m. all three days. Tickets for the bus must be purchased in advance. You may do so by clicking here.

The flame that will burn during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will be lit during a ceremony in Greece today.

The lighting of the flame has been a tradition of the Olympic Games since 1936. The flame not only represents the positive values that man has always associated with the symbolism of fire, such as peace and friendship, but also acts as a link between the ancient and modern Games.

After an initial tour of Greece, the flame will arrive in France where torchbearers will tour the country before arriving at the Opening Ceremonies. The 2024 Summer Olympics begin July 26th.

The Olympic flame lighting ceremony will take place on 16 April at 10:30 a.m. and you can watch live on Olympics.com.

Billions of cicadas are set to surface in a matter of weeks.

Two different broods — one that appears every 13 years, and another every 17 , will emerge simultaneously. The rare emergence of this many insects hasn’t been seen in the US since Thomas Jefferson was president and won’t happen again until 2245. Some scientists are referring to as the cicada-pocalypse.

This spring’s periodical cicadas will begin to make their appearance sometime in mid-May in parts of the U.S. Midwest and Southeast. Experts don’t believe that the two broods will overlap a lot. The bugs themselves, while loud and numerous, are harmless.

Toronto Maple Leaf fans will get the chance to tailgate at the arena in downtown Toronto once again this year.
