The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation’s Igniting Healthcare 50/50 Fundraiser is back.

This is the first ever Spring 50/50 and there will be chances to win each Friday. Purchase your tickets early and have a chance to win early bird prizes every Friday, first draw is tomorrow. The grand prize jackpot will be awarded on May 3.

Tickets can only be purchased online or at the CKHAF office (9 Ursuline Ave, Chatham), Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

All money raised will go towards the Highest Priority Needs at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.


The sunshine was a welcome surprise yesterday, but today the below average temperatures continue.

Environment Canada says a few wet snow showers today and tomorrow.

A dry and slightly warmer weekend with a high of 12C. For Monday’s solar eclipse, the forecast has taken a turn, now calling for clouds and rain with a high of 13C.


The Powerball jackpot grows again. Now up to $1.23 billion!

That number is expected to rise as more and more tickets are gobbled up. No one matched the six numbers drawn last nights drawing. The last time someone won was back was three months ago on New Year’s Day.

Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday

**Reminder: There are no restrictions that prohibit Canadians from playing the Powerball lottery. Be aware and very careful of websites offering to sell to Canadians.


Monday’s NCAA women’s basketball game between Iowa and LSU set a record for viewers.

Iowa’s 94-87 victory over LSU averaged 12.3 million viewers for ESPN, the largest TV audience ever for a women’s basketball game. The previous record was set in 1983. Those ratings are higher than the 2023 World Series and Stanley Cup playoffs.

The average women’s NCAA tournament game ratings are up by 127% from the 2023 tourney.

The Final Four games will be played on Friday with the women’s final Sunday afternoon on TSN.


Planters is looking for ‘Nutters”.

Nutters are people that drive around in their 26-foot-long NUTmobile. They’re looking for three people to drive around the U.S. for one year. The company calls them their rolling public relations firm on wheels. You’ll be a spokesperson for Planters and will be responsible for planning events, speaking to large groups and the media, managing the NUTmobile’s social media accounts and more. You will be traveling 100% of the time and may be working weekends, weekdays, nights and holidays. The pay includes a competitive base salary and bonuses.

The deadline to apply is April 14th, and is open to U.S. residents only.
