5 Things You Need To Know

April 8th is the 99th day of the year. There are 267 days remaining until the end of the year.

Chatham-Kent will experience a Solar Eclipse today.

In the our area, the eclipse will take place between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., with the sun expected to be totally hidden around 3:15 p.m. The last total eclipse experienced in the province was February 26, 1979, in Northern Ontario, and the next one won’t happen again over the province until 2099.

You should never look directly at the Sun, eclipsed or not, without proper protective eyewear as the Sun’s radiation can be incredibly damaging.

Temperatures could drop around 10 degrees for up to an hour this afternoon.

Expect traffic to be heavier than usual in C-K today, and anywhere along the path of totality. Rain will start off this morning, and push out by noon with partly cloudy skies in the afternoon.

Rondeau Provincial Park is sold out for day use today.

The Men’s final tips off tonight at 9:20 on TSN with a pair of #1 seeds, the Purdue Boilermakers against the Connecticut Huskies.
