May is Community Living Month.

It is a province-wide annual awareness campaign to recognize the accomplishments of the Community Living movement.

Community Living Chatham-Kent will host a flag raising at the Civic Centre in Chatham this morning at 11 a.m., with a bbq lunch (by donation) to follow.

Last night, as part of the Shine a Light on Community Living initiative, Toronto’s CN Tower was lit up in blue and green. Community Living encourages homeowner to join in by changing exterior lights to blue and green to show support.


It’s Election Day for the Lambton—Kent—Middlesex and Milton by-elections.

The Lambton—Kent—Middlesex seat opened up when long time minister Monte McNaughton left politics. A byelection was called in the Milton riding when the former MPP resigned in January.

The polls are open between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Just over 24 hours before the grand prize draw in the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation’s Igniting Healthcare 50/50 draw.

The grand prize jackpot draw is Friday at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets are still available and can only be purchased online or at the CKHAF office (9 Ursuline Ave, Chatham), today and tomorrow 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

All money raised will go towards the Highest Priority Needs at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.


Apple iPhone users are showing up late to work because their sleep alarms are not sounding.

A number of iPhone owners have raised the alarm after their alarms failed to go off at an adequate volume, causing many to miss it altogether. Apple said it was aware of the issue but declined to offer any specific insight into what the problem is while pledging it was working on a fix.

Some people believe it could be linked to the “Attention Aware Features,” which lower the volume when your iPhone believes you’re looking at your screen, and if you don’t want to take any chances, it can be turned off by going to the Face ID & Passcode section in the Settings menu. Turning off the feature or rebooting the phone may also solve the problem.


Taylor’s boyfriend is making bank.

Three-time Super Bowl champion and four-time All-Pro Travis Kelce has signed a record contract for NFL tight ends. Kelce has played 11 years for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The contract is worth $34.25 million and runs through 2027, that’s just over a $4 million raise per year.
