5 Things You Need To Know

June 13th is the 165th day of the year. There are 201 days remaining until the end of the year.

Busy night in Dresden.

The Dresden BIA is holding an evening of tastings at 17 locations in town. There will also be live music at the Clocktower Commons.

A $5 Taste of Dresden Passport is required, with all proceeds going to Dresden Community Foodbank. Passports can be purchased tonight at The Chip Co. or at the Clocktower Commons (behind Town Hall).

Tonight is also opening night of the Dresden Rotary Club Summer Concert Series.

Tonight Crystal Gage will take the stage at 7. Sidestreets will host a BBQ beginning at 7.

Come out for some free music at Dresden Rotary Park all summer, and it’s free!

The Summer Concert Series kicks off tonight in Blenheim at Talbot Trail Place.

Stop by the park on Thursday nights during the Summer for live entertainment between 7-8:30.

Come by tonight to see Pepper Jones and the Rockits.

Come out to Sons of Kent tonight to Tie One On!

It’s a first year fundraiser to raise money for the pet food bank at Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) in Chatham.

There will be over 500 ties on display for purchase by donation. No price tags, no bidding. The ties have all been donated and will be laid out by colour. The event is free to attend. Stop by between 4-8 p.m.

The Los Angeles Clippers announced NBA Hall of Famer and team consultant Jerry West died at 86 years old.

It is his silhouette that was used as the basis of the NBA logo.

He was a 14-time All-Star, a 12-time All-NBA selection, part of the 1972 Lakers team that won a championship and was selected as part of the NBA’s 75th anniversary team.

The NHL Stanley Cup Final comes to Canada.

Game 3 of the final is in Edmonton tonight. The Oilers trail the Florida Panthers 2 games to none in the best-of-7 series.

It’s the first Stanley Cup game on Canadian soil, involving a Canadian team since the Montreal Canadiens run to the final in 2021. Prior to that it was Vancouver in 2011. No Canadian team has won the cup since Montreal in 1993.

Puck drop is at 8 p.m. All games are on CBC and Sportsnet.
