The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers are home for three games this weekend beginning tonight.
Fresh off snapping a 7 game losing streak, the Barnstormers will play the Barrie Baycats tonight at 7:35 and tomorrow at 1:35. Sunday first pitch is 1:35 against the Kitchener Panthers.

Today is World Blood Donor Day.
It’s a day to raise awareness to the importance that donating blood means to the health industry, as the range of uses is way more diverse than anyone thinks. From plasma treatments to research and emergency uses, donating blood has been an important cornerstone that has aided the world on several occasions.
The next blood donor clinic clinic locally is June 22nd at the St. Clair College Healthplex and Tuesday June 25th in Wallaceburg at the UAW Hall.

Father’s Day is Sunday.
The idea of a special day to honour fathers and celebrate fatherhood was introduced in the United States. A woman named Sonora Smart Dodd was inspired by the American Mother’s Day celebrations and planned a day to honour fathers early in the 20th century. The first Father’s Day was celebrated in Spokane, Washington on June 19, 1910.
Father’s Day is observed on the third Sunday of June.
This will be the third (of four) free fishing periods in Ontario this year.
This means you do not need to buy a fishing license if you want to fish during:
- Mother’s Day Weekend (May 11–12, 2024)
- Father’s Day Weekend (June 15–16, 2024)
- Family Fishing Week (June 29–July 7, 2024)
Family Day weekend was the first. During all other time periods, Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase a valid fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.
