June 24th is the 176th day of the year. There are 190 days remaining until the end of the year.


Some showers this morning, but not nearly as hot as it was last week according to Environment Canada.

Sun and cloud, once the showers pass, with a high of 28C, it’ll feel like 31 with the humidex.

Mid week rain, before sunshine for the last few days of school.


There will be no swimming at the the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool until next week.

The pool will be temporarily closed for routine maintenance beginning today, reopening on Tuesday July 2nd for Summer Programming.

It’s a winner take all Game 7 in the NHL Stanley Cup Finals tonight in Florida.

The Edmonton Oilers have won 3 straight games to even the series and have a chance to win the first cup for a Canadian team since 1993. They are the first team since 1945 to force a game 7 after being down 3-0. This is only the third time it has ever happened, those teams have won once and lost once. Toronto came all the way back to win in 1942.

The Florida Panthers have never won the Stanley Cup. Florida lost to Las Vegas last year.

The puck drop is at 8 p.m. on CBC and Sportsnet.


The 66th Ford Fireworks will light up the sky over the Detroit River tonight.

The 24-minute show is expected to start at 10:06 p.m.

The annual show which celebrates Independence Day in the United States and Canada Day in Canada.

Downtown Windsor parking will be limited. Transit Windsor will have a free shuttle bus running 6 to midnight between Devonshire Mall and a downtown drop-off.

Windsor Police are asking families to take photo of their kids at the beginning of the event, in the same clothes they’re wearing that night. Police say this will ensure you can provide officers with a recent and accurate photo if they are separated during the evening.


Amazon has announced they’re ditching the “air pillow” packing material they’ve been using for years.

Instead, they’ll use recycled paper because it’s better for the environment and actually offers better protection for most products.

They actually started transitioning away from the air pillows in October and say they’ve already cut their usage by 95% in North America. That’s why you’ve seen more paper packaging in your Amazon boxes. They’re aiming to completely transition away from air pillows by the end of the year. They’d been using around 15 billion of them annually.
