The Edmonton Oilers will face the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final.

The Oilers got a win on Sunday night, beating the Dallas Stars 2-1. This marks Edmonton’s first trip to the final since 2006.

Game one of the Stanley Cup finals is set for Saturday at 8 p.m.


The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers weren’t able to get back into the win column during their string of road games.

The Barnstormers fell 9-3 against Kitchener on Thursday and 8-5 against Barrie on Saturday. Their game against the London Majors was postponed on Sunday due to weather.

The Barnstormers have lost 5 in a row. The team will play a road game against Welland on Thursday before returning home to take on Brantford on Saturday at 7:05 pm.

If you’re unable to donate this week, the next clinic locally will be at the UAW Hall in Wallaceburg on June 25th.


The Chatham-Kent Film Group will screen Driving Madeleine today at the Capitol Theatre.

There’s showings at 4 pm and 7 pm. Admission is $10 and tickets can be bought online or at the door.

The C-K Film Group screens independent films on the first Monday of the month.

The next showing will be July 8th.


TimberFest is coming back to Bothwell this weekend.

The live chainsaw carving event gives you a chance to watch some of North America’s top chainsaw carvers in action.

It takes place at 29972 West Bothwell Road from 8 am-6 pm on Friday and Saturday and from 9 am – noon on Sunday and is free to attend.
