The Chatham Concert Band is back on stage tonight.

This is the 96th year for the Summer Concert Series, the show is free beginning at 7pm.

Conductor Vaughn Pugh will chat with CKMORNINGS at 6:50 this morning.


The Chatham-Kent Film Group screens independent films the first Monday of the month. Except next month.

The Film Group will screen Wicked Little Letters Monday, August 12th at the Capitol Theatre.

Showings at 4 and 7pm. Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased at the door.

The next film screening will be held on September 9, at Galaxy Cinemas.


Day 4 in Paris at the 2024 Summer Olympics and Canada scored a silver.

Team Canada has claimed an Olympic silver medal in women’s rugby sevens, the nation’s best-ever result in the event. In the gold-medal final, Canada came up just short against New Zealand by a 19-12 score.

New Zealand won gold at Tokyo 2020 and silver at Rio 2016. Canada had to pull off a couple of upsets just to get to the final.

Lasalle’s Kylie Masse finished just off the podium, in 4th in the Women’s 100m Backstroke final.

Canada now has 2 of each, for 6 total medals.

As of this morning, Japan leads the medal count with 7 Gold, 2 Silver, and 4 Bronze, but the U.S.A. has the most total medals with 26.


The 2024-25 GOJHL schedule was released Tuesday.

The Maroons will open the season at home against the Komoka Kings Sunday, September 15th at Memorial Arena.

Maroons will continue to play most of their games at Memorial Arena on Sunday evenings at 7pm.

The season wraps up on March 9th.

The Detroit Free Press Marathon has sold out for the first time in its 47-year history.

The race is still 3 months away, but the full marathon and the international half-marathon, the two most popular events, have reached full capacity.

There are still openings in the marathon relay and the international half-marathon.

Last year, the marathon drew about 24,000 participants with more than 26,000 expected this year. Race day is October 20th.
