The Heat Warning continues for Chatham-Kent today.
It might actually be hotter than Monday. Sun and cloud with a chance of a thunderstorm today, according to Environment Canada, with a high of 32, it’ll feel like 43 with the humidex.
Cooler temperatures are expected by Wednesday.
CK Public Health officials warn that in high temperatures and humidity, your body may not be able to cool properly which can lead to heat exhaustion or even heat stroke.
People are encouraged to drink plenty of liquids if they will be out in the heat for extended periods of time, seek shade whenever possible, and retreat to air-conditioned areas if you feel any symptoms of heat-related illness coming on. They include breathing, dizziness or fainting, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, extreme thirst and decreased urination with unusually dark yellow urine.
The Chatham-Kent Public Library hosts Movies @ Your Library every Tuesday at the Chatham branch.
Book your spot today to see French Girl starring Zach Braff.
Movies start at 2pm.

School buses will be back on the road a week from today.
The Ministry of Transportation is reminding drivers of school bus safety for all drivers.
When you see a school bus with its overhead amber-lights flashing:
- If you are driving and a school bus approaches, watch if the bus slows and flashes its overhead amber lights, which means that the bus is coming to a stop to pick-up or drop-off passengers.
- Slow down and prepare to stop whether you are behind or approaching a bus.
- Watch if the bus stops and flashes its overhead red-lights or activates its stop arm. This means that the bus has stopped to pick-up or drop off passengers. It is dangerous and illegal to fail to stop for a stopped school bus that has its overhead red lights flashing or its stop arm activated.
It’s a $490 fine and six demerit points if a driver runs a school bus with its red lights and stop sign out.

A tech startup called Reflect Orbital is trying to put a constellation of satellites into orbit that can reflect sunlight and direct it anywhere on Earth. Russia actually did a proof-of-concept decades ago, and it worked.
It’s mainly designed to help big solar farms keep generating power at night.
Anyone can go to their website and fill out a Sunshine Application. The deadline to apply is October 23rd. You’ll need a pretty big plot of land to get approved though. Each patch of sunlight will be about 5 km across.
It’s not clear how much they’re planning to charge, but it won’t be cheap. And don’t expect to have sunlight 24 hours a day, at least not yet.
For now, you’ll only get four minutes’ worth of sun. They’re hoping to start their initial test run in late 2025.
Sharing a bit more about Reflect Orbital today. @4TristanS and I are developing a constellation of revolutionary satellites to sell sunlight to thousands of solar farms after dark.
We think sunlight is the new oil and space is ready to support energy infrastructure. This… pic.twitter.com/5WRb8etAv0
