Residents can safely dispose of household hazardous material at no charge. A list of acceptable material can found here.
The drop off is at Veolia Environmental, at 141 Prosperity Way from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The final household hazardous waste day for this year is Tuesday, November 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Chatham-Kent Film Group will screen Ghostlight Monday at the Capitol Theatre.
Showings at 4 and 7pm. Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased at the door.
The C-K Film Group screens international and independent films the first Monday of the month. The next film screening will be held on Monday, November 4th.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford is planning to increase speed limits on 400-series highways from 100 kilometres per hour to 110 kilometres per hour.
A pilot project began back in 2019 was extended to a handful more locations last year, including a 40-kilometer-long stretch between Windsor and Tilbury was raised to the 110 km/h limit.
The Transportation Minister has been directed to raise the speed limit on all 400-series highways “where it is safe to do so.”
The Detroit Tigers have advanced to the American League Division Series after beating the Houston Astros 5-2.
Detroit sweeps the best of 3 series 2-0. A 4 run eighth gave the them the win.
The Tigers will now take on the Cleveland Guardians in a best-of 5 series beginning Saturday at 1:08 p.m. The first home game will be Game 3 on Wednesday, October 9th. Detroit will host a home playoff game at Comerica Park for the first time in just more than 10 years. Tickets are already sold out, unless you buy on the secondary market.

The Nintendo Museum opened in Japan yesterday.
The interactive space is located in the video game company’s former factory. The Nintendo Museum takes visitors through the company’s 135-year history with an exhibition that includes rare consoles and prototypes, interactive games, experiences and even a themed burger restaurant.
One of the highlights is the Big Controller, it lets players and play classic Nintendo games on oversized controllers.
Visiting the museum is tricky. You can’t just show up at the door and buy a ticket. Visitors have to go to the museum’s website and sign up for a draw three months in advance. The winners are announced two months ahead of their scheduled visit date and tickets must be purchased right away. That means if you went online today, the earliest you could visit is January. The cost is about $30 for adults.
