October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Now women in their 40’s can now book a mammogram in Ontario without needing a doctor’s referral. Eligible people can call any Ontario Breast Screening Program location to book an appointment. Click here for more information.
It was announced last year that the province would lower the age for breast cancer screening self-referrals from 50 to 40, and the change took effect Tuesday.
The WNBA Finals are set, and they include Chatham’s Bridget Carleton.
The Minnesota Lynx beat the Connecticut Sun in the deciding game 5 to advance. The Lynx will now play the New York Liberty. NY was the #1 seed this season, Minnesota #2. Game 1 is Thursday at 8 p.m. on TSN.

For the first time in a decade, Comerica Park will host a playoff game today.
The Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Guardians, Game 3 of the American League Division Series begins at 3:08 p.m., with the best of 5 series tied at 1-1.
A block party is planned in downtown Windsor, with a section of Ouellette Avenue closed, with big TV screens to watch the game. Or you can catch the game on Sportsnet.
People flocked To Vegas this morning to witness the Tropicana Hotel turn to a pile of rubble.
The hotel towers were brought down at 2:30 a.m. in Vegas, 5:30 a.m. here. Vegas loves a good casino demolition, the celebration included a fireworks display and drone show with 555 drones.
Visitors are paid premium prices for hotel rooms with a view of the implosion.
The demo will clear land for a $1.5 billion baseball stadium for the relocating Oakland Athletics.
