The new Pope tweets.
Around 8 a.m. on Wednesday Pope Leo XIV relaunched the official papal X account with a bunch of tweets against war and a plea for world peace.
Peace be with you all! This is the first greeting spoken by the Risen Christ, the Good Shepherd. I would like this greeting of peace to resound in your hearts, in your families, and among all people, wherever they may be, in every nation and throughout the world.
— Pope Leo XIV (@Pontifex) May 14, 2025
After going silent for around an hour and a half, Pope Leo then fired off six additional tweets in the span of 13 minutes.
The 107th PGA Championship tees off this morning at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte.
It’s the second major tournament following the Masters last month. Xander Schauffele was the 2024 winner. The winner this year will receive $3.15 million.
Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are the odds-on favourites to win. Rory’s coming off his first Masters title. If you remember Scheffler was arrested during the tournament last year for not following police instruction. The felony charge for assaulting a police officer and three misdemeanors were later dropped.
You can watch on CBS or TSN this weekend.
