The Chatham Maroons grabbed a big Game 3 win at home last night.
Chatham won the game over the St. Catharines Falcons 7-3. The Maroons have a a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series. Game 4 is in St. Catharines on Thursday night, Game 5 Friday at Memorial Arena.
The Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Florida Panthers in Game 2 tonight. Leafs lead the series 1-0. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. in Toronto.
Roman Catholic cardinals from around the world will gather at the Vatican today to start the process of electing a successor to the late Pope Francis.
Only cardinals under the age of 80 are allowed to vote in a papal election. After each round of voting in the conclave, white smoke will emerge from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel if a pope has been elected and black smoke if he has not.
The last two conclaves — held in 2005 to elect Pope Benedict XVI and in 2013 to elect Pope Francis — lasted two days.
Alert Ready will be conducting a test across the province today to ensure the system’s readiness in the case of an actual emergency.
These routine tests of the Alert Ready system typically happen twice per year.
The emergency alert system is in place to warn Canadians of a long list of threatening events, from earthquakes, floods, forest fires, nuclear incidents, tornadoes, and potentially dangerous weather conditions.
The test is scheduled for 12:55pm.
