July 29, 2025
July 29th is the 210th day of the year. There are 155 days remaining until the end of the year.
Another day, another Heat Warning for Chatham-Kent from Environment Canada.
This is the fourth heat wave of the Summer; a typical summer only sees two to three a year. Environment Canada says for a heat wave to be called, it has to have two consecutive days or more with the temperature hitting at least 31C, with overnight lows of at least 20C.
It’s so hot, that the roads are buckling. The extreme heat might be to blame yesterdays closure of Highway 402 in Lambton County. OPP shut down the eastbound lanes between Airport Road and Mandaumin Road near Sarnia. Eastbound traffic is being re-routed in the area, the repairs are expected to be lengthy.
The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers are back home tonight.
