Service centres along the 401 and 400 are offering free coffees for truck drivers again today.
All 23 ONroute locations on will be providing free coffee for truckers all day, as a thank you for maintaining the provincial and national supply chain during the COVID-19 crisis. The free coffee for truckers will be offered every Wednesday until May 13th.
Truckers will be asked to provide proof of trucking licence or association membership if available.
ONroute service centres continue to operate as an essential service during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing 24/7 access to fuel, washrooms, food, and truck parking.
Canadian Blood Services have cancelled the April 21st and April 25th blood donor clinics Chatham. Donors are welcome to book an appointment at the Windsor Blood Donor Centre (3909 Grand Marais Rd E, Windsor). The centre is open 4 days a week and with the cancellations, they’ve opened up extra days during the month of April and May.
You can re-book your appointment by calling 1-888-2-DONATE, at blood.ca or through the GiveBlood app. Only donors with scheduled appointments are welcome.
Another sporting event bites the dust: The Tour de France has been postponed due to the coronavirus. It was supposed to kick off June 27th. There’s no word yet on a new date.
Other COVID/sports news: President Trump is putting together a team of the most powerful people in sports to serve as advisors, the team will help advise him on how to restart the economy and get pro sports going again in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are people now saying that the 49ers losing the Super Bowl saved a ton of people from dying of COVID-19. A report notes that the first cases of COVID-19 in S.F. were being treated just after the game, and a victory parade with a million people might have caused an outbreak in the city months ago.
A woman in New Jersey has set a new Guinness World Record by doing 5,332 burpees in 12 hours.
Officials spent hours looking at videos of her completing each Burpee.
Gina Laielli attempted the record to raise awareness of a disease her daughter who has a disease.
Burger King wants to reward students with a free Whopper if they can unlocked a special promo code by solving questions covering a range of different school subjects.
Starting yesterday, Burger King is releasing a different problem for students to solve each day for a week on its social media channels including Instagram.com/BurgerKing and Facebook.com/BurgerKing.
To participate, students must enter their answer to the problem on the BK app to redeem a free Whopper.
Subjects covered include math, biology, chemistry and literature. And it’s only in the U.S.
