The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit reported no new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. Chatham-Kent has one active case at the moment.

Ontario reported 149 new cases. It has now been two full weeks where Ontario’s daily number of recorded infections has been over 100.


The Lord Selkirk Bridge in Wallaceburg was scheduled to be closed today, but it will be open.

Work done on the bridge was completed yesterday.


The Toronto Raptors stave off elimination with a 125-122 double overtime win over the Celtics in Game 6.

It’s being dubbed an instant classic. Both sides had the lead, with the Raps eventually forcing a game 7.

The winner-take-all-game-7 is Friday at 9 on TSN.


The 101st NFL season begins tonight.

The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will host the Houston Texans. Kickoff is 8:20.

New in 2020 the Oakland Raiders became the Las Vegas Raiders following their relocation to Vegas, becoming the first NFL team based in the state of Nevada. The Washington Redskins, following the decades-long controversy regarding their name and logo, retired both in the offseason and will use the temporary name “Washington Football Team” until a permanent name is revealed in the near future.

The Detroit Lions will play their first game of the season on Sunday, hosting the Chicago Bears at Ford Field with no fans in attendance.


The National Toy Hall of Fame just announced the 12 finalists for its 2020 class.

The finalists this year are: Baby Nancy doll, bingo, Breyer toy horses, Jenga, Lite-Brite, He-Man action figures, My Little Pony, Risk, sidewalk chalk, the game Sorry! , Tamagotchi and Yahtzee.

The winners will be voted on by toy industry experts and public voting at ToyHallOfFame.org for the next week. Around three of the 12 toys will wind up getting inducted. They’ll be announced on November 5th.
