Temperatures jump up to 25C today, that’ll feel like 29C with the humidity.
A ridge of high pressure building over the eastern half of Canada toward the end of this week, should send temperatures soaring double-digits above seasonal for this time of year. (Ridges cause sinking air, which warms up as it falls toward the ground, meaning temperatures will warm up for the majority of the province.)
Enjoy it while it lasts, Ontario is expected to see a harsh push of cold air in October. Fall officially arrives on Saturday morning at 2:50 a.m.
This might be the last thing on your mind, but Santa Claus Parade dates are being set.
Save the date for the Downtown Chatham Santa parade on Friday, November 17th.
Wallaceburg hasn’t confirmed, but they usually host the man in red on Saturday, November 18th.
Tilbury is locked in for Friday, November 24th.
Santa will be in Blenheim on Friday, December 1st. Dresden on Saturday, December 2nd.

Gas prices dropped eight cents a litre on Wednesday in most of Ontario, and they are set to dip a little more today.
The average price per litre of gas on Wednesday dipped to $1.629.
Today it’s expected to drop to $1.609/litre, a drop of up to two cents. The last time prices were this low for gas was in mid-July. This time last year, we were paying $1.459/litre.
Locally, as of 5am this morning: in Chatham some pumps are as low at $1.59/litre. Wallaceburg $1.63, Blenheim $1.67 and Tilbury $1.59.
The 2023 International Plowing Match & Rural Expo is underway this weekend in Bowling Green, Ontario.
Bowling Green is in Dufferin County, north of Guelph.
There are plowing competitions, a range of activities for people of all ages, numerous opportunities to learn about agriculture, near-constant live entertainment in multiple Match venues, hundreds of vendors and exhibitors. It runs until Saturday.
Chatham-Kent, specifically Pain Court hosted the IPM in 2018.

This isn’t the first year this program has been going on, with last year’s Slurpee Name Your Price Day generating $50,000, which translated to “more than 100,000 meals” according to 7-Eleven.
