The Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign kicks off today until Sunday across Canada.

Grab a fresh baked chocolate chunk cookie with blue icing eyes and pink frosted smile for only $1, with the full $1 going to a local charity. In Chatham-Kent the money will be directed to the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation.

Last year’s Smile Cookie campaign raised over $7.8 million for local charities, hospitals and food banks.

U.S. Open Champ, Canadian Bianca Andreescu was welcomed back to her home town of Mississauga yesterday with a She the North rally.

The 19-year-old Andreescu was presented a key to the city by the mayor, who also unveiled an ‘Andreescu Way’ street sign.

An estimated 10,000 people showed up.


A pop-up hotel is opening at the North Pole in April.

North Pole Igloos hotel will be made up of 10 heated domes in which guests can sleep under the stars in the frozen center of the Arctic Ocean.

You can stay in a heated igloo for $100,000. This covers a two-night stay in Svalbard, the last frontier town between mainland Norway and the North Pole, flights and logistics to and from the North Pole, as well as a night’s stay at the North Pole Igloos hotel, along with all meals and guides.


IKEA has launched a live TV channel designed to make you fall asleep.

The Slow TV Channel features boring footage of a ship voyaging across the high seas. The footage lasts for 336 hours before looping again.
