The Chatham-Kent Film Group presents Mary Shelley tonight on the big screen at the Chatham Capitol Theatre.
Show times are 4 and 7. Tickets are available for $10 prior to each screening.
The Chatham Goodfellows Annual Porchlight Campaign is tonight.
Volunteers will be making their rounds — collecting donations of money, food, and toys tonight. Leave your porchlight on if you have a donation. Volunteers will be clearly identified.
The volunteers will be leaving from the Spirit and Life Centre at 5:30. The money collected will be used to purchase toys and food that will go out in the Goodfellows’ Christmas baskets.
Former President George H.W. Bush died Friday at his home in Houston, surrounded by family and friends. He was 94. He’d been dealing with several health problems, including a form of Parkinson’s.
His last words were, “I love you, too,” in a phone call to his son George W. His wife Barbara died this past April.
Bush will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol before a memorial service at the National Cathedral in Washington. There will be a second memorial in Houston.
He only served one term as President and was defeated by Bill Clinton in 1992.

Chatham-Kent‘s new Mayor and Councillors will be sworn in tonight at the John D. Bradley Centre at 6.
In October the election results were monumental when seven women were elected to Chatham-Kent council, the most since amalgamation in 1998.
Everyone is welcome to attend the inauguration ceremony. Cash bar is available.
Hours at The Beer Store and LCBO have been expanded across Ontario.
All locations are now permitted to sell alcohol and spirits between 9am-11pm, seven days a week. Previously, alcohol could only be sold between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
