5 Things You Need To Know

September 23rd is the 267th day of the year. There are 99 days remaining until the end of the year.


No new COVID19 cases locally reported by the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit. There was a student who lives outside of Chatham-Kent but attends the University of Guelph’s Ridgetown Campus. The Public Health Unit’s website only references cases involving Chatham-Kent residents.

Ontario reported 478 cases across the province. The highest single day increase since May. There are 153 new cases in Toronto with 95 in Peel and 90 in Ottawa. 68% of the cases are in people under the age of 40.


Caesars Windsor is reopening its doors soon; for invited guests.

If approved, the doors will open on October 8th to a few Caesars Rewards members. Invited members will be notified by email and will be required to make a reservation in advance. The casino will be open for limited slot machine use only. Only 50 guests will be allowed in the casino at any time.

Guests and employees will be required to wear a mask.

All table games, restaurants, and hotel rooms remain closed.


The Chatham-Kent Fire Department will host another Virtual Tour tomorrow.

The next North American International Auto Show will not be held until September 2021.

The show was originally scheduled for June 2021 after the 2020 show was cancelled due to COVID-19. It was to be the first NAIAS to be held in the summer instead of in January like in years past.

The summer idea is on the back-burner for the time being, organizers have booked dates for the fall for the next 3 years.

The auto show will continue to highlight current products as well as new concepts from the world’s top automakers.

The 2021 show is scheduled to take place from September 28- October 9.


Schitt’s Creek has been trending all week after a record setting Emmy night Sunday.

Now we get word that the history-making final season will hit Netflix in the Canada and the U.S. on October 7th.

The cast and crew picked up awards for best comedy, best comedy actor, best comedy actress and more during Sunday’s Emmys. Fan’s have called the sixth season as the most emotional.
