Chatham-Kent had no new cases of COVID-19 for the 11th consecutive day Wednesday. The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit only has 2 active cases and no one is in hospital.

Ontario reported 335 cases across the province. There are 102 new cases in Toronto with 79 in Peel and 65 in Ottawa. 69% of today’s cases are in people under the age of 40. There were 42 new cases reported in Ontario schools on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says much of Canada is already in the second wave of COVID-19.

In our four biggest provinces, the second wave isn’t just starting, it’s already underway,” he said. “We’re on the brink of a fall that could be much worse than the spring.

The Prime Minister used the address to highlight the speech from the throne where he vowed the following:

  • help provinces ramp up testing
  • extend the wage subsidy for businesses
  • create a national child care system
  • national standard for long term care
  • a green recovery plan for the economy

Trudeau said Canadians can’t do anything to change the numbers now, or even tomorrow. “But what we can change is where we are in October, and into the winter,” he said.

It’s all too likely we won’t be gathering for Thanksgiving, but we still have a shot at Christmas.

An asteroid that is the size of a school bus will whizz by Earth today.

NASA says the asteroid is between 15 and 30 feet wide.

The asteroid will be closest to Earth at 7:12AM.

It will be 21,000KM’s above the Earth’s surface when it passes by; that’s closer than most weather satellites. The asteroid won’t pass Earth again until 2041. The asteroid was just discovered last week.

Fireball has announced they’re going to be selling eggnog this year.

It’s cinnamon-flavored, but it’s alcohol-free, so the package does recommend adding in some Fireball whiskey.

If you want to try Fireball’s take on eggnog, they’re selling it exclusively at Walmart this holiday season.
