Four new COVID19 cases reported by Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit Tuesday.

Seven cases are active. No one is hospitalized.

Two classes were closed yesterday at St. Anne elementary school in Blenheim because of two positive cases of COVID-19 in students and/or staff. Those were the first confirmed cases in a Chatham-Kent elementary or secondary school.

821 reported new cases were reported across the province Tuesday. There were almost 8000 fewer tests completed from Monday to Tuesday. 74% of the new positive cases are in the hotspots; Toronto, Ottawa, York and Peel.


The collection period for Operation Cover Up is wrapping up Saturday.

If you have a gently used winter coats, especially kids coats and plus sizes, drop them off at one of the following locations:

  • The Salvation Army Thrift Store
  • Chatham – 456 St. Clair Street
  • Wallaceburg – 600 Lowe Street
  • Ridgetown – 18 Main Street
  • Jiffy Lube – 45 Keil Drive South, Chatham

The distribution period will begin next week October 26th — November 14th at The Salvation Army Family Services (Blenheim, Chatham, Ridgetown & Wallaceburg) and Tilbury Information & Help Centre.


Tomorrow’s Presidential Debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden will be different from the last one, thanks to a significant rule change.

When each candidate gives his initial two-minute response to a debate topic, the other guy’s microphone will be cut off.

After those two minutes, an open debate will begin, during which the mics will not be muted, but interruptions by a candidate will count toward his time.


Leamington District Chamber of Commerce is organizing a Santa Claus Parade at Point Pelee National Park.

Cars will be able to go through Point Pelee National Park and drive by the floats that are lit up and of course Santa will be at the end.

Canada’s southern most national park will be relabelled as Canada’s South Pole for the day.

There is no cost to enter the park, but donations for the food bank and or a toy for will be collected along the route.

The drive-thru event will be held in Point Pelee National Park on November 28th from 6-8pm.


Border Biscuits based in Scotland is recruiting a “master biscuitier” to taste test its latest creations before they reach store shelves.

The role is full-time, pays £40,000 (around $68,000CAD), includes 35 vacation days, and free cookies.

“The successful candidate will be crowned our Master Biscuitier and lead our passionate team in creating delicious ideas for new biscuit creations.”
