A hobby that started four years ago by a London father and son is getting some attention.

Jason and his son Jakob make Canadian flags out of hockey sticks. They’ve gone from making 30 to a waiting list over 500.

A request was made out of the blue by an old friend, and Jason said they wouldn’t be able to make one since they were out of sticks, the pandemic hasn’t allowed them to visit rinks to pick up discarded hockey sticks. A social media post was made and the story has gone viral, with sticks being collected all over Southwestern Ontario.

Kent Minor Hockey Association will be collecting sticks for this cause on Saturday from 12-1pm at Tilbury Arena and 1-3pm at Thames. They’ll be back at the Thames Arena from 1-3pm on Sunday.

Jason and Jakob have had to stop taking orders due to overwhelming demand. Follow their Facebook page for info on when they’ll start taking orders again.

Domino’s Pizza is bringing back their popular mascot from the 1980’s, the Noid.

The Noid was a bunny-looking “antihero” that appeared in Domino’s commercials that would use ice-shooting machines to try to prevent delivery of hot pizza. The commercials urged people to call Domino’s to “avoid the Noid” and get their pizza in 30 minutes or less. The mascot became a pop culture hit even with its own computer game.

This time he’s trying to stop Domino’s new fully autonomous delivery vehicles from delivering pizzas. The Noid will also appear in the newest Crash Bandicoot mobile video game.

The last Noid appearance was back in 2011 to celebrate his 25th birthday.

The world’s oldest whiskey is going to be auctioned off in June.

Experts say the Old Ingledew Whiskey was bottled sometime between 1763 and 1803. It is still in its original glass bottle. They expect the whiskey could sell for somewhere around $20,000 to $40,000.

Wall Street financier John Pierpont Morgan — whose banking firm ultimately became J.P. Morgan and Co. — is believed to have purchased the bottle during one of his frequent trips to Georgia. It’s been gifted among the wealthy many times since then.

It will be offered in an online auction from June 22-30.
