5 Things You Need To Know

November 24th is the 328th day of the year. There are 39 days remaining until the end of the year.

Come by for a drink and some trivia tonight in support of Rise House International at Sons of Kent.

This is the last Trivia Night before Christmas, so wear your ugly Christmas sweaters!

Cost is $20 per person at the door. Trivia begins at 7pm with some awesome prizes to be won.

The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign expands across Chatham-Kent today.

The Kettles hit the streets in Chatham last week, today they’ll be out in Wallaceburg and Blenheim.

Money raised in each community, stays in that community. The funds raised directly will support local families and children in need in Chatham-Kent.

Volunteers are needed – Contact the Salvation Army at CKSalvationArmy.org or call 519-354-8353.

It’s American Thanksgiving Day.

Always celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November; it’s been a statutory holiday in the U.S. since 1879.

The event that Americans commonly call the ‘First Thanksgiving’ was celebrated by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the New World in October 1621.

Canadian Thanksgiving was originally celebrated at the same time as in the US, but was eventually moved to the 2nd Monday of October to reflect the earlier harvest season.

Another Thanksgiving tradition is the NFL football games that will be played today.

The Detroit Lions have won three straight and will host the Buffalo Bills at 12:30, the NY Giants are in Dallas at 4:30 and the Patriots play the Vikings at 8:20.

Ford just debuted a new type of steering wheel that transforms into a table for your laptop.

The whole steering wheel can tilt forward when you’re parked. And there’s a tray that fits on top, so it doubles as a laptop stand. Or you could eat on it too.

They’re only offering it in Europe for now, in two different types of vans. But there’s no reason they couldn’t do it here too.
