Next Tuesday is a Hazardous Waste Day, hosted by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and Waste Connections of Canada Ridge Landfill.

The drop off is at Veolia Environmental, at 141 Prosperity Way near Chatham on Tuesday, June 13th from 8-1pm.

These are the household hazardous waste days for 2023:

  • Tuesday, July 11, 8am-1pm
  • Tuesday, August 8, 8am-1pm
  • Saturday, September 9, 8am-1pm
  • Tuesday, October 10, 8am-1pm
  • Tuesday, November 14, 8am-1pm

Residents can safely dispose of household hazardous material at no charge. A list of acceptable material can found here.


The Chatham-Kent Public Library hosts Movies @ Your Library every Tuesday at the Chatham branch.

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2023 was held yesterday and they announced the first major product since 2014: The Vision Pro. It’s a mixed-reality headset, which will “only” set you back about $3,500.

It is Apple’s first 3D camera and is controlled using eyes, hands, and voice. You’ll be able to use apps, play games, and watch streaming content, all on your personal massive 4K screen.

The Vision Pro will be available next year.

Other announcements at the event included FaceTime adding recorded messages, where you can record a clip of yourself and send it to others when they aren’t available for calls. Also Facetime will soon be available on AppleTV. In addition, Shareplay combined with Facetime allows users to watch TV in sync together.

For the iPHone, when the iPhone is set down or docked, Standby can be activated to turn the phone more useful. When on Standby, the iPhone will display your best images, food delivery progress, and your upcoming tasks and events, among other things.


The Lotto Max jackpot is at $70 million.

No winner on Friday night, so the jackpot stays at $70 million plus an 16 $1 million MAXMILLIONS prizes.

Tickets are available online or in store until 10:30pm on draw nights.

The biggest Lotto Max total prize on offer was a $70 million jackpot with 70 Maxmillions between the June 18 and June 22 draws in 2022.


The video game Tetris turns 39 today.

It’s been on more gaming platforms than any other game in history. The theme is a Russian folk tune from the 1800s and the lyrics are about a peddler who seduces a young peasant girl.
