The Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada is holding its 65th annual Tour To Yesteryear and basing it out of Chatham-Kent this year. The tour started yesterday and will continue until Friday with club members going on daily tours around the community as well as to locations in Kingsville, London and St. Thomas.
Club members with about 80 vehicles registered from across Ontario that range from the 1930s through to the 2000s.
The club has organized an event for the public tonight in the parking lot of Cascades Casino 6p.m. to dusk.
The Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool reopens to the public today after being temporarily closed for the summer.
The pool has been closed since July 31 for renovations to the entrance and change rooms.
All recreational swimming programs will resume once the pool re-opens. CKRecreation’s swimming lessons will resume in Wallaceburg in October. Residents interested can now register at Chatham-Kent.ca/Recreation.

Canada Basketball has made history, for the second time at the FIBA men’s basketball World Cup.
On Sunday Canada defeated the United States 127-118 in overtime to take bronze and win its first ever medal at the tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Canada clinched a spot at the Olympics for the first time since 2000.

It’s official; This has been the hottest summer ever.
August was the third straight month in a row to set a record following the hottest ever June and July. August is estimated to have been around 1.5 degrees Celsius hotter than the previous average. July 2023 was the hottest month ever recorded, while August is now second on that list.
