5 Things You Need To Know

December 3rd is the 338th day of the year. There are 28 days remaining until the end of the year.

Christmas Doesn’t Have to Stink This Year!

CKSY has teamed up with the Chatham Goodfellows for a donation drive thru drop off this morning.

Goodfellows volunteers will be in our parking lot (117 Keil Drive, Chatham) from 6-10am to collect donations of hygiene products, deodorant, soap, shampoo, etc – which will then be distributed to kids that need it in our community.

Are you getting lit this holiday season?

If you’ve decorated your home with holiday lights, Chatham-Kent is asking you to post photos on the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent web page. The public can view the photos online or to drive or walk through the listed neighbourhoods.

The map is mobile phone friendly so residents can take it with them when touring. The municipality said more than 130 local homes and businesses have already signed up to share the beauty of their outdoor holiday decorations through the “Light Up Chatham-Kent” program. Homes from Blenheim, Dresden, Wallaceburg, Ridgetown, Erieau, Chatham and rural areas and more are coming online each day.

The idea grew from Blenheim’s Light Up Our Neighbourhood Committee, the 2020 Christmas Lights Tour in Wallaceburg and Dresden Shines because they wanted a wider platform to share their efforts.

Homeowners who register their home online will be eligible to win prizes.

The C-K Public Health Unit reported three new COVID19 cases locally on Wednesday.

Microsoft just filed a patent for a new sensor that monitors people’s body language during meetings.

The sensors would also watch people’s facial expressions and analyze their speech patterns and then figure out how bored they are.

They’re saying this could be a way for bosses to know if they should improve their meetings and make them more engaging.

There’s no word on when Microsoft might roll this out to the public.

There’s a store in Toronto called Rare Snacks that has a massive stock of limited edition snacks that are not easy to find.

You can shop with the online store that ships internationally. Check it out here.

They bring “the forbidden snacks of the USA to Canada, and Canada to the USA.”
