August 3rd is the 215th day of 2021. There are 150 days remaining until the end of the year.


A total of 19 active COVID-19 cases have been reported as of July 29 by Chatham-Kent Public Health.

There will be an update for the weekend later this morning.

Ontario is reporting 218 new cases of COVID-19, as of August 1st .


Six pop-up clinics have been scheduled for August. They’ll offer first and second doses.

  • Clinics for 12- to 17-year-olds will be held Wednesday at John McGregor secondary school and Friday at Tilbury District high school from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Anyone 12 and older are welcome at clinics:

  • Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Dresden arena (10 a.m. to 4 p.m)
  • Saturday, Aug. 14, at the WISH Centre (10 a.m. to 4 p.m)
  • Wednesday, Aug, 18, at the Merlin library  (10 a.m. to 4 p.m)
  • Saturday, Aug. 21, at Wallaceburg District secondary school (10 a.m. to 3 p.m)

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will be given at all of the above pop-up clinics. The Moderna vaccine will also be given at the WISH Centre.

Walk-ins are welcome while supplies last. Appointments can also be booked at getyourshotck.ca.


This past weekend, Penny Oleksiak became Team Canada’s most decorated Olympian of all time after winning her seventh medal in 4x100m medley relay.

Also over the weekend Canada beat the USA by a single goal to secure their place in the women’s Olympic football gold medal match on 5 August.

Canada now has 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 7 Bronze.

Andre De Grasse coasts to third place in his 200m heat, running a time of 20.56s, and advances to tonight’s semifinals.

A video of a London woman trying to park her 11- foot Toyota into a 21-foot parking space is going viral. The woman’s 31-point parallel park took her more than seven minutes. She eventually was able to park her car before proudly walking off.
