5 Things You Need To Know

September 20th is the 263rd day of 2021. There are 102 days remaining until the end of the year.

It’s Election Day in Canada.

Canadians will head to the polls to elect an MP and ultimately a Prime Minister.

Polling stations will be open from 9:30-9:30 today. Results will start to stream in at that point.

Covid protocols are in place.

On Sunday Ontario reported 715 new cases of COVID-19. 540 cases are in unvaccinated individuals (76%)

Chatham-Kent Public Health doesn’t update on the weekends or holidays. On Friday, there were 17 new cases and nineteen recoveries. The active case count locally is at 113. A weekend update will come between 10-11 this morning.

Ontario’s vaccine certificate system goes into effect on Wednesday. Ontarians will be required to verify that they are fully vaccinated to enter various businesses including indoor restaurants, movie theatres, gyms, concert venues and nightclubs.

Ontarians can download or print their vaccination receipt from the provincial booking portal to use as proof of vaccination status until the province launches an app to streamline the process on Oct. 22.

Tim Horton’s Roll Up the Rim is back beginning this morning.

You’ll need the Tims app or a registered Tims Rewards card to play again this season. Long gone are the days of actually physically rolling up the rim on your cup.

Make sure to scan your app or card to have a chance at winning.

Roll Up the Rim is around until October 17th.

The good news is that the Detroit Lions didn’t lose yesterday; they also didn’t play.

They’re half the featured matchup on Monday Night Football tonight at 8:15. The Green Bay Packers host the Detroit Lions.
